It's cars that create the buzz nowadays for Charlotte the city nicknamed “The Hornet's Nest“. When angry residents chased out the British General Cornwallis he wrote about the city as a hornet's nest of rebellion. It's also called the City of Churches; because churches of many denominations including Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, Lutheran and Catholic sprung up in this home of Southern Presbyterianism.

NASCAR & the Other Green Flag!

How many Budweiser's or Coca-Cola's do you think are consumed during one NASCAR race weekend?   Take Talledega Superspeedway as an example; sold out capacity at 175,000 seats, 3 races: Trucks, Nationwide, & Cup Series, & counting only 1 beverage per person -- thats already over a half million empty cans in the trash even before a typical fan gets his own engine fired up!   The Green issues are exponentially compounded beyond the fan base as one looks at the nature of the sport itself - the fuel, the tires, the carbons released during a race!  So how exactly can NASCAR say they are waving the Green Flag of Sustainability?
